So who's going where? Place your bets here. My choices?

England: Steve MacClaren.
Newcastle: Roeder if the FA allow it, Big Sam if they don't.
Middlesboro: O'Neil (he's got to end up somewhere)
Aston Villa: Curbishley.
Sunderland: O' Leary.
Charlton: Um. Dowie?

Exciting times!

i fancy o'neill if he does come back to management to go for the aston villa job, reawaken a sleeping giant might appeal to him, he has a lot of connections with the midlands, forest and leicester, roeder will probably stay at newcastle, curbishley to boro? mcclaren to england

how about reid for sunderland?

Curbishley won't be back just yet. Niall Quinn's a good bet for Sunderland. I also heard rumours of Mark Hughes for Manchester United, but that was in a tabloid.

England: Steve McClaren

Newcastle: Roeder, again if the FA allow it (if they don't, I half expect Reserve Coach Tommy Craig to become puppet manager)...if not that...Houllier/Curbs

Middlesboro: Tony Mowbray

Aston Villa: Claudio Ranieri

Sunderland: Martin O'Neill (he's a Sunderland fan and heavily involved with this Irish takeover)

Charlton: Martin Allen

can't see quinn wanting to manage sunderland, he's got no managerial experience for one thing, he'll be on the board if the syndicate takes over, maybe doing a bit of coaching of the youth team or summat

Oh, if only that would happen! Can't see it myself though, mainly for the age old reason of filthy lucre - Boro would probably offer him twice as much as Villa could and he'd have considerably more cash for transfers there too. If anyone goes to Villa - and I'm not sure that O'Leary will get the push, even though he deserves it and is about as unpopular as he can be with the fans - I reckon it'll be Curbishley.

Boro haven't got that much money

There's always a skant chance that McClaren could do both jobs

Couldn't find a dedicated Everton thread (aside from the one about their new owners), so figured I'd reanimate this (what you'd think would be...) evergreen thread.

Which is all a prelude to: Everton have sacked Dyche.

Sean Dyche has been sacked as Everton manager after less than two years in charge at Goodison Park.

The 53-year-old departs just hours before Everton are due to host League One side Peterborough in the third round of the FA Cup.

Everton confirmed under-18s head coach Leighton Baines and club captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of the team for that game.

Four members of Dyche's coaching staff - Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer - have also departed.

The Toffees were beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth on Saturday and sit 16th in the Premier League and just one point clear of the relegation zone.

They failed to register a single shot on target at Vitality Stadium and have won just three league games from 19 in the league this season.

My heart bleeds. There is a job going in London, or has it gone yet?
Failing that, if he hangs on, Chelsea are bound to be looking for another manager quite soon.
Did Dyche get paid as much as Potter when Potter and all the others were sacked from Chelsea?
Do I care

Surprised after they had that recent spell where they played Arsenal ( away) , Cheslea and Man City ( away) and didn't get beat and tbf the losses against Forest and Bournemouth in context aren't bad losses. However not surprised as his overall record wasn't great and although at times he steadied the boat he never got them to push on. The up and down situation with the club's finances, deductions and ownership won't have helped as did losing Iwobi.

Everton are 16th and grinding out draws just isn't enough, plus the football is turgid - my brother is a bluenose, as I've mentioned before, and has a season ticket and he hates watching them because of how awful the football is. Dyche did keep them up last season and he deserves credit for that, but there comes a time when you have to wonder if it's worth keeping him. They are also the only team to have lost to Saints.

ETA: have an Everton thread. Any Evil Blizzard fans here?
