I was at Luton Uni between 95-99, even pre 9/11 and Iraq/Afghanistan the Islamic society was only known to me by the posters I saw on every noticeboard, all would be talks and guest lectures, in the majority of these I would see anti-western/anti-American slogans on almost every noticeboard everyday with no opposition or complaint, Racially motivated student bashing (brown on white) was also popular in the Moor Path area but never reported in any media (local or otherwise) , it was almost as if the Uni was scared of accusations of racism, it is ironic reading these articles as I knew about this 15 years ago. The idea that the media/ political class are beginning to wake up to this is laughable.
There is a difference between Multi Cultural society and a Multi Seperatist one. Im afraid to say the Political/Media classes of the UK have chosen to cover their eyes and ears out of some misguided sense of "respecting cultural beliefs". The people of Stockholm are owed an apology by the ruling elite of this country who have been pretending this isn't going on for far far too long.

No i misread his post and didnt read him mentioning the Musims (just thought he was going on about brown people) So I re-wrote about my views on multiculturalism not being all bad and that it's really just the Muslims that give it a bad name.

My grievances on the subject of a omnipresent god that deems it ok to imcompass the whole of human life on ONE BOOK are with the whole of the Abrahamic community, not just Muslims, but this thread is about them, so I'll stay on topic.

Just for clarification. The issue I have with people who use the term brown people as with the term Asian people is that in todays climate they clearly mean Muslims, why cant they just spit it out? Asians are more then just Muslims. (They're the bits of the continent that hasnt been invaded and subjugated to their vile and vengful god)

The overriding volume of them compared to anything else I suppose, no other society had the level of stuff on Uni Noticeboards and in the 1990's the SU was run by the Sports Science lot as I used to complain about the absence of live bands etc. But the violent language and imagery, like any other voice of questioning it would be extinguished by the will of God. Im just saying what I saw, which was a bunch of very angry people closing themselves off from the rest of the world. Im no fan of America's foreign policy and continued support of Israel being silly, but their hatred also seemed to be as much about anyone who was a non believer would burn. So I found it intimidating.
I used brown as a reference for skin colour, sorry if I offended you. An ex used to describe herself as brown. I'll be specific and say young men from Bury Park Area who would probably be British Asian & Muslim
