Me and the Mrs collect a number of types of books, the New Naturalists being our biggest collection followed by the Observer Book collection.
From our love of botanical stuff we've recently stumbled on the Taschen Bibliotheca Universalis. I've always liked Taschen books for their image quality and i love the fact that you can often pick them up in charity shops for a few quid but this series is amazing value for money when you see how nice they're made.
Taschen do them for £15 but you can score most of them for just over a tenner and they have facsimiled some amazing historical stuff for this collection.
