The Lambeth parenting team are currently promoting our up and coming parenting course; strengthening families, strengthening communities parenting programme. It is designed to promote some of the protective factors associated with better outcomes for children such as strong and warm parent/child relationships, accompanied by clear boundary setting.

The programme is a 13 week, inclusive, evidence-based violence prevention parenting programme. Co-facilitated by trained practitioners, delivered over three hour weekly sessions, group based, underpinned by various theories including: attachment, adult learning, social learning and others. It is particularly aimed at parents with children aged 11-18 years.

Importantly, the programme helps parents to explore and develop strategies for dealing with the factors in parenting that are associated with increased risk of poor outcomes for children, such as harsh and/or inconsistent discipline methods, violence against the self including; suicide, drugs and alcohol, and, violence against others including; child abuse, domestic violence and abuse, elder abuse, gangs, grooming etc.

Please see flyer for more information. If you have any queries or would like support booking onto the course then please email parenting@lambeth.gov.uk.
