To finally dispel any notions of hippydom, I'll suggest To the Other Side of the Sky by Michael Garrison. From his 1979 epic In the Regions of Sunreturn and Beyond - music inspired by the infinite journeys of Voyager I and II.

The only way to listen to it is reclining on a bean bag in a dimly lit room with a head full of sativa

Loved this when it came out in olden times , I don't think it troubled the charts much , maybe top 40 .
 
This was big at my school , a Bristol band I think, a mate punted out this self-released single

 
got this little number, prob one of my most current played tracks, doubt any of my friends have heard it before.
