Snowdonia or The Lake District

mod

A modernist
Which do you prefer and for what reason?

I personally prefer Snowdonia. Much more varied and unpredictable than the Lake District and has a much more rugged feel.

Snowdonia, less people and a more remote feeling.

But favourite hilly bit is the Peak District, cracking caves see.

Probably the Lakes. They are prettier and there is more of them. I like both though.

Lakes. I can't be doing with walking up mountains. Too much like hard work.

If they had a chair lift or something at Snowdonia I'd maybe consider it.

How about if they put in a train that went to the top of Snowdon?

I like them both, for different reasons but for the Lakes, it has to be out of season - Far too many people otherwise.

Of course, if you want the best of this kind of scenery of all, come to Scotland! :)

I'm not sure it's fair to compare them really.

The Lakes are lovely to explore out of season, and there are still nice bits that are still relatively clear of tourists if you know where to go.

Snowdonia and west Wales is where I'm drawn back to recharge myself again and again. Maybe it's got something to do with my heritage, or maybe that's just romanticising the experience. Whatever it is I feel I'm home and I can breathe.
