The game actually shit me up quite abit, never even played it, just watched my brother play it, that was enough to put me off.
Im looking foward to this, Roger Avery is in the writing credits, he's worked alongside many Tarintino films. LIKE PULP FICTION!!! :D :D :D
Don't know much about the director though, still looks like an intersting project, just hope it doesn't turn out as shitty as Resident Evil 1.

Looks more promising than either RE film. I love the games - even SH4 was a good laugh. I see they've incorporated elements from every game, ie Pyramid Head from #2 and swapped the lead chracters around.

Saw this last night and it's possibly one of the worst films I've ever seen - not scary, no plot, no sense, some very uneven acting and just...really really dull. :(
The middle bits especially are more like a sort of big budget Derek Jarman film (if you can imagine such a thing) because they're so nonsensical and disjointed, weird "stuff" happens, bizarre characters and sets come and go and... that's about it.

Oh, and the character motivation and behaviour beggars belief too, in the sense of characters not behaving like any human being I've ever met...

It's a superb game, It's had me shitting it, playing alone at night.
I fail to see though, how it could possably translate into an interesting film.

Went to see it - kinda spooky in places, but doesn't work as a film because it doesn't tie together the lose ends in the same way the game's character explain the links. It didn't shit me up the same way the game did.

Maybe it's because they've included chracters from the first two games. Nice they didn't use any CGI apart from the fog.

Not sure if that's actually true though, think it was a bit of an overstatement since there was clearly a lot of other CGI used, although the manequins, etc were all actors and make-up, i still read that some CGI was actually used to touch them up.

Still somewhat undecided on the film. Might acquire a copy to watch it again when i'm considerably more sober.

Although what was surprising is that according to IMDB (so it may or may not be true) the original cut of the film was 3 1/2 hours long before Tristar made Gans cut it to just over 2 hours.

I liked the film, though it was nowhere near as creepy as the games, sean bean is always worth a flicker of interest,I'd watch it again though not in the cinema

You can always take comfort from the fact that Uwe Boll didn't direct it. It could have been so, so much worse.

I thought it was alright, I'm not sure what to make of it. I found it quite spooky in parts, but I've never played the game though - so i dont know how it compares.

the plot gets a bit unclear in parts, and Sean Bean's american accent is awful - not that you see much of him anyway.

I watched Silent Hill last night. I don't really know what to say!

It was nonsense!

I don't know whether having already played the game would have helped, but for the biggest part I had little or no idea what the hell was happening.
The plot swung between ultra cryptic and just plain clumsy, some of the dialogue was so bad I can only assume it was lifted directly from the video game. The majority of the acting was wooden and badly directed, Sean Bean was completely wasted. Just what he was doing in this film is beyond me, he must need a new car or something.

The overall concept was quite interesting I thought, but not very well explained throughout the film. Eventually a lengthy flashback scene is required to allow the viewer to catch up with exactly what the hell is going on. There are certainly some rather disturbing moments and the visuals were impressive. I'm not sure how films are classified these days but I did feel the 15 certificate attached to this film seemed rather lenient considering the numerous depictions of child murder and a 'barbed-wire rape' scene which is reminiscent of the infamous 'tree rape' scene which saw The Evil Dead banned for so long in this country.

Not to give too much away but the film then ends with no real conclusion. Whether this is deliberate in order to path the way for a sequel I'm not sure. I can't see that many people being interested in a sequel to be honest, I didn't overhear any comments of praise as I left the auditorium that's for sure.

Watched this yesterday, it seemed like a very long Marilyn Manson video.

Without the music.

Cant believe it was a 15 cert tho.
