I don't even

BBC Film Review (sure it wasn't Kermode, the other guy probably) said after the initial toilet humour it got quite deep and was all about faith. I might give it a go.

struggled with it to be honest , a couple of lols , but i did quite like the' faith' side of it made it far better than just the innuendo stuff

I've had it on my HD for ages, but it never appeals. I saw the trailer innumerable times and it had what looked like a really filthy joke in it, but I didn't get it. A traumatised-looking object saying 'don't ask', except I couldn't tell what object it was supposed to be. A fleshlight, perhaps.

We saw this last night and enjoyed it. What a timely release in this country, just a while before the American elections and certainly now worth a watch. Apart from the faith thing, we saw many more things in there; was it a critique of America or maybe modern day society as a whole. It was also allergorical about race issues and immigration and what is shit with society today. There was plenty of stuff featuring Mexicans!

I thought it was shite. The animation is ugly, and the comedy gross. It's not that I am a prude, but this was just crude and unfunny. I liked the idea about food getting killed, and then them justifying the weirdness by explaining that they were just in an animated film all along. "You are voiced by someone known as Seth-Ro-Gen". Ultimately a nice idea extended into just a shit story with barely any funnies, all wrapped up in some ugly CGI animation.

Erm, spoiler

Yes, this is a rare example where people should seek out the spoilers, because the idea of the film is way better than actually sitting through it.

I thought it was quite funny with a couple of really funny scenes. But I thought the ending was absolutely brilliantly clever.

Anyone seen that movie Funny People? Judd Apatow's not funny but actually quite good fictional study of how his own stable of actors came to replace the Ben Stillers, Owen Wilsons and Adam Sandlers of US film comedy.

There's a scene where Adam Sandler's jaded movie star asks Seth Rogen's wannabe stand up comic if he has any material that's not about dicks or wanking.

The answer, it would appear, is no.

If you've seen the trailer, you've seen all the funny parts of the film. The rest is just filler between jokes.
