It does seem fairly astounding she got those roles at those ages. 38 when she first played Cathy Gale. Both roles would go to smeone in their twenties these days (despite now being supposedly so much better for women in their late thirties upwards).

She refused a CBE cos she was a republican too. We'll skip over her lib-demism.
