Recommended kit for quick and quality scanning of photos and negatives

Rushy

basically a scrotum
Can anyone recommend a piece of kit which would allow me to scan lots of old photos and negatives to a decent quality but also as quickly as possible?

Or alternatively a reliable service?

Bumping this rather than starting a new thread - same question basically.

Was going through a big box of photos yesterday and thought it’d be nice to digitise/archive all of them. Some have been chopped up a bit for collages in the past so taking from negatives would be better. There’s quite a few scanners on eBay etc but some seem quite old and resolution not that great. Any advice? Looking for something standalone rather than a flatbed scanner which I don’t have the space for (and they always break).

I've just seen an ad for a phone app called Photomyne. It can 'scan' photos, slides or negatives (slides and negs need a light box of some sort). It autocrops the images, even multiple images shot at once, and it can colourise them if that's your bag. The quality won't be as good as a dedicated scanner, but it might do what you need.
