Recommend me a film website

One that recommends films i've watched some great films lately and most of them came recommended on the urban film review blog which has long since died . Does anyone have a decent site that recommends films of the same sort of calibre? a google search was surprisingly fruitless, it kept giving me films recommended by christians

Actually that site is more in depth than I thought it was.

A friend of mine is watching the top 100 films from imdb, and will then move on to the top 250. It's got some interesting and unexpected films in it.

I tend to use www.empiremagazine.com to see reviews and ratings of films. IMDB is good but I tend to use that for information about films, rather than to see whether it's considered good or not

The reviews on the FilmFour website are not bad. The search thingy is temperamental though so you have to put in the exact name of the film you're after or it won't find it.

Screenrush is the UK version of very popular french website AlloCiné.

Apparently its very good.

Reviews and discussions. Basically, it's a bloke watching and commenting on all 1000 films in the They Shoot Pictures, Don’t They? list of best ever films. Some he does in video essays, some he does in text - he writes really well, picks up interesting stuff and has original perspectives. Here's his one on loach's Riff raff. Here's the main page.
