Being born a year apart from Shilton never helped his England career, but he was a fine goalkeeper.

All the same I'll never forget when he let that ball through his legs at Hampden Park against Scotland.

RIP.

Great Goalie, for Liverpool, Spurs & England. Unlucky that Shilton was favoured over him , although they did alternate in the England team for several years. Didn't become an obnoxious twat in retirement (unlike Shilton) . RIP.

Met him loads of times and even played back garden football every summer with him in the late 70s and early 80s due to him being the uncle of one of my best mates, he’d visit our little town every year for 1 or 2 weeks.
