Grace Jones, Britain's oldest woman, and the last living person in the country born in the 1800s, has died, her MP Simon Hughes has confirmed.
Miss Jones, who was a member of the small group of individuals who live to be over 110 - known as super-centenarians, was born on 7 December 1899. She was the sixth oldest person alive in the world before her death today.
That leaves Barnsley's own Ethel Lang as the current oldest person in the UK - and the only one of Queen Victoria's subjects still alive.

She was born in the 1800's, 1899.If she had been born in the 1800's that would have been even more impressive.

No, but you can tell how fast the clam is going. It's like Schrodinger's Clam - You can't observe how old it is until you kill it to see how old it is.
Except that's not really like Schrodinger's Cat is it?
Not the classic 10 year old fungus put-down?you're a 10 year old giant fungus
