Lazy Llama
its ok to walk along queens road in front of the estate on stilts but not through it or round the back.
some nice big houses round there though so worth a look and just see if you like it. is well connected for trains and buses and has the best persian shop in the world not to far away.... mmmmm..... baklavas..... contemplates moving back to peckham
ETA if the estate scares you that much you can always get a bobby to walk you home, they're right next door!
just dont get them to accompany you to the turkish cafe that only sells weed and hash!
Cheers folks. I actually live at the top end of Brixton Hill at the moment and it scares the f*ck out of people when I bring them up here but....It's that feeling of going somewhere I don't know about. Not sure what to make of Queens Road area....been round there once before and it looked a bit sketchy TBH.
I have been told to forget about North Peckham and North of Queens Road though...lots of goings on round there apparently....
Some areas I dont have any problems or fears walking round as a white person, there's still loads of racism in the world. I dont think I'd say the same if I was black.
In fact I have black mates who dont go to certain areas because of it.
lol I don't know about SE15, but round here the stories which crackheads/junkies give you to get money are jokes - one guy gave me this story about how he's run out of money for the electric meter, his dad was stuck in the bath, and there was no more hot water, so he needed to take him somewhere where he could give him a shower and I think he wanted the money for the cab or something.
er... why not just use the money for the meter so you can warm up the water and give your dad a bath? he's already in... all you need is more hot water innit!
that's what drugs do to you, kids! I gave him £1 for his cheek though.
