Pregnant lady's stomach stamped on - Peckham

Absolutely horrific. The last news of the poor woman was that she is in intensive care. I hope she makes it and gets some justice for herself and her unborn child. :(:(

Heard the lady on the radio today. Heartbreaking. So fucking unnecessary. What possesses some people?

What may be worse, is I read somewhere that he's got another lady pregnant ... this is a "man" who claims not ready to be a father - then he should use contraception !
Hope that he and the accomplice get suitably severe (long) dose of porridge.

Having been found guilty of child destruction and causing grievous bodily harm, Kevin Wilson of Stansfield House, Longfield Estate, Bermondsey, and a 17 year old accomplice who cannot yet be named, will be sentenced at the Old Bailey in February 2016.

Dreadful crime.

So have I understood this correctly? This carries a sentence of 'up to' life , rather than the mandatory life you get for murder?

Yep.

Would be surprised in this case if it is not given the same severity as all out murder though, The intent was to cause serious harm to the woman and to the baby, the baby died. That's the test for murder on a person who has been born anyway.

sentenced today - life (at least 16 years)

Kevin Wilson jailed for killing unborn child - BBC News

not sure if that is long enough ?
Well you could argue nothing is long enough, but it's a substantial sentence, and 16 years is the absolute minimum he will serve- after that he will be on licence for the rest of his life.

Bigmoaner: no, with a life sentence the tariff is an absolute minimum, there is no further deduction for good behaviour.....

16 years is about right. Anything less no. With that sort of crime, he'll be looking over his shoulder for the whole stretch too.

That scum and his accomplice should have got the "whole life" tariff for such a pre-mediated attempted murder.
And their assets confiscated, and paid to the victim as compensation, and if she is unable to work - PTSD or ? - then his "prison earnings" should also be sent to her.
His "new" partner has got off extremely lightly with a record of behaviour like that, and I feel very sorry for her.
