It remains to be seen who will be in charge of our team for this one, but our opponents were stuffed 4-0 at home by Cheshunt tonight. They aren't doing a lot better than we are, despite reputedly having the biggest playing budget in the league along with Chatham. This looks like a prime opportunity to get the post-Hak era underway with a winning start.

I wonder if match will go ahead given hard frost forecast tonight and barely above 0 degrees tomorrow
The weather was similar last weekend and we didn't have a problem, although a few other games were off. Met Office forecast is a minimum -2°C overnight. We can't have had more than 2 or 3 Saturday postponements in the last 10 years, one of which was for heavy snow ("The Beast From the East" in March 2018, immediately before Meadow locked us out) so I wouldn't expect a problem. It costs us a five figure sum in lost revenue each time a Saturday game is postponed to a midweek date, although given the manager situation it might be beneficial to delay it.

The fact there hasn't been an announcement to say any of the senior players will be in temporary charge tomorrow makes me think we're hoping to reveal a new appointment in time for the match.

The league have given special permission for pitch inspection from 15.00 today. If Hamlet don't hold one today, it suggests they are hopeful. (Or no suitable referees were free!)

I don't see much point having a 3pm inspection today unless it's already frozen solid with no realistic chance of playing, which is unlikely in our case. On the other hand the weather has been fairly consistent for the last few days, so logically if it's OK at 3pm today it's unlikely to be any worse tomorrow afternoon.

A quick look at the league website shows Dover, Deal and Beckenham have inspections this afternoon and quite a few clubs already have one scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Out this way my garden is still frozen solid and the forecast suggests it still will be at 15.00 tomorrow. I can see sense in the call for some clubs. Farnham have a 16.30 inspection, I strongly suspect it will be called off. The temperature is forecast below zero, at times well below zero, for the vast majority of time until kick off.

Aldershot have frost covers down but they only work down to -4 so are at risk too. It would be daft to have an inspection there today, they do have a better chance.

I don't think much will survive on grass if we're off. Barnet v Hartlepool and Maidenhead v York are already off in the National Division. I'll probably be looking for something on 3G now.

Whyteleafe v Dereham in the FA Vase looks like the most interesting local-ish alternative fixture on 3G. Only a few hundred yards from Whyteleafe Station (oystercard zone 6) with direct half hourly trains from London Bridge via Norwood Junction and East Croydon.

Jamie Mascoll and Craig Braham Barrett may start unless Mascoll is cup tied. Host of other well known players at the step 5 galacticos. Aaron Goode, Anton Douglas if fit, Ryan Hall, Ryan Gondoh to name a few

Dereham were recently brought by a consortium led by former Norwich striker Grant Holt. (I think Darren Huckerby might be involved too) Holt is also registered as a player but I don't think he's played a game for them

There's still a chance that Peckham's home game will go ahead.

If not, Whyteleafe might be worth a look.
