"Petite" ranges/clothes for short people

I have to go clothes shopping - I don't like clothes shopping. In the past I would go to Debenhams as I could always find decent short people stuff in the Maine brand as well as others. Any suggestions where I can go now? I specifically want shorts, summer dresses, and cotton trousers.

I'll be in Manchester.

Also looking for a tankini or a peplum style swimming costume.

You're unlikely to find much in the actual shop unless it's a really big one. M&S, New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Sainsburys and Boden all do petite ranges.

God I feel you on hating clothes shopping, short and fat and sweaty in my case does not ever make for a happy experience. Everything's fucking uncomfortable and the lights are too bright and why does every shop have to have musak? (ASD horrors).
I especially find larger sizes also tend to increase in the height direction too so if I find stuff that fits me round the waist it is usually also pooled on the floor.

I think Next had a petite range last time I was trying (and failing) to get summer trousers.

My partner is just under 5' and petite. She feels your pain. Usually when she goes shopping for clothes she comes back empty handed, despondent and/or raging that everything was too big.

A couple of places she often has success:

AllSaints - amongst their weird cuts, she sometimes finds cool things that fit her perfectly. She only goes in the sales though, cos they're stupid expensive.

SuperDry - if you don't mind having the SuperDry logo somewhere on everything you buy from them, their sizes come up small. She's got some good stuff from them, especially summer dresses.

On the plus side her tiny feet mean she can buy kids shoes, not paying VAT and getting excellent sparkly trainers that just don't exist in adult sizes.

I think with Next and probably a few other places, it's worth doing click & collect as they tend to not have stuff in, especially if it's from a specific range like petite.

I've found petite length summer trousers in Peacocks. May have been sold as 3/4 length though so maybe look for that rather than specifically petite
