Party Venue suggestions please

Maggot

The Cake of Liberty
It's a big birthday at the end of next month (21btw ;)) and I'm looking for somewhere to hold a party.

Somewhere near Bromley would be great, but anywhere in SE London or Central London would be fine as long as its easy to get to.

Holds up to 100 people (optimistic estimate)

Has a bar - obvs

Has DJ facilities.

Be able to provide a buffet = nice but not essential

Also somewhere a bit unusual/quirky if possible.

Ivy House in Nunhead?

Interesting fact you can hire out various rooms at the good ole Bedford in Balham.

Perhaps not quite what you're after. It's a tricky question, venues are always changing.

I think with the Ivy house your party would be public? I might be wrong. It's also very hard to get to, part of it's charm , still a great space one you get there.

yeah the back room to the right is one ive seen used for partys - anyone can go in there, but if its full of people having a private party you can tell and most people wouldnt go in - and even if they do its not such a bad thing. That room has its own door, so it takes a little effort to get in there.

You can charge to get in though or do advance tickets. That's what we did for the Hamlet bash.

yeah all the rooms have their own door which can be managed but you can also defintiely do a more informal arrangement to where private partys and public mix.

UPstairs at The Trafalgar in Greenwich is another spectacular cant be cheap one - amazing view over the thames - ive seen decks in there once

That's true. And he is known for his high rollin' millionaire lifestyle :D

He didn't specify budget and you don't need to be a millionaire to hire out. Stop being ridiculous.

Maggot Anyway apparently the crypt at St Giles can be hired out when they haven't got jazz on... Also apparently the private room at the EDT is quite nice. Not seen it myself.

The Catford Constitutiional Club , has an area that can be booked and does food dunno abouut DJ though.

I was also going to suggest the Big Red Pizza bus in Deptford but that has closed for a refurb.

I love the Pizza Bus! Shame about that.

The Catford Constitutional sounds good. I just rang them and their room only holds 50 people. They suggested the EDT too.

I haven't seen it  I only saw the garden room where we were sat for Urban drinks a couple of months back. I think the garden room might be too small though.
its an empty room with wooden floor boards and a little bar at the back - just feels a bit empty somehow...
