Currently playing "Covetous" by Super-a-loof on "The Soul of Science. vol.3" - sends shivers up my spine - pure something or other .. jazzy/cinematic/housy/Detroit .. actually bought the CD for another track.
Track 6 is the purest disco/house.

Some of it's a bit "intellectual" but several seriously danceable tracks on there.

Did you get the Jill Scott album?

The Small Faces ~ Don't Burst My Bubble

Dyke & The Blazers ~ Let A Woman Be A Woman, And Let A Man Be A Man

The Fiery Furnaces ~ Waiting To Know You

Ride - Nowhere
Some PJ Harvey
Arcade Fire - Funeral

Some Sam Cooke

Currently listening to:

Afghan Whigs - Black Love

"Individuality (Can I be Me ?)" with Rachelle Ferrell.

She has a ludicrous range. Minnie Ripperton with more oomph

Seem to be into amazing female vocalists at the moment.
Amy Winehouse's is another CD I've just bought - effortless - if she's that good at 22 .....

You can't know just how made for my HIFI this sort of music is :-

Naim 103 CD player - powered-up for 10 years - seriously solid.
Leak Stereo 20 valve amp c. 1965 - I rebuilt that in '93 .. hardly needs any warming up to sound right.
Stacked Quad ESL57s. c. mid 70s - also never unplugged in 10 years.

Best £2,000 I ever spent - back in the 90s when a small investment matured.

Dub, you'll be pleased to hear that I'm just about to complete my Whigs album foursome, following my winning of "Gentlemen" on eBay for only £2.20 including postage. Truly they are the great lost band of the 90s.
