# On The CD Player Today (take 6)

So, so close to AOTY, but an impressive 2nd nonetheless...

Fuck Buttons - "Street Horrrsing"

Not as good as "Tarot Sport", but still a terrific 50 minutes of achingly beautiful noise.

yesterday & today
Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
Just great songs 2
Laymen Terms - Drive To Nowhere: Verity's Novel

Prolapse - Ghosts of Dead Aeroplanes
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
Guts Pie Earshot - Wait
Einstürzende Neubauten - Haus der Luge
Sonic Youth - Goo

Isaac Hayes - "Hot Buttered Soul"

It'd have been so easy to have fucked this up, with 4 songs spread over 45 minutes it could've descended into doodling, but it's a ruddy bloody masterpiece.

isaac does long songs really well - 'do your thing' off the shaft soundtrack is 20 minutes, most of which is a maggot brain-esque guitar solo... it's marvelous though. likewise ike's mood, disco hustle etc.

me: damo suzuki & 3dtanx live in preston 2009.

Primal Scream - Primal Scream

I've decided that at some point I really need to smoke a shedload of dope and then listen to all the Primals albums in chronological order. It's so hard to listen to this album without hindsight, it's so clearly a dry run for Screamadelica and Give Out But Don't Give Up, but I knew both those albums really well before I ever heard it.
