Zongamin - Zongamin
Seeing you post that made me think: I've not listened to that for years, the kids have just got in the bath, I've got the front room to myself for a bit so... I've just whacked it on at a decent volume.

What a great album. Spiral is one of the best tracks from the 00s. It's made me all nostalgic for the time I saw them live at a club night I was at. They were dressed like a new wave band - all matching sharp suits, whites shirts and skinny ties, the man himself jumping around wearing a balaclava. They rocked. Finished by playing a cover of the Bauhaus version of Third Uncle. That sounded amazing after a few dabs of MDMA crystal.

Fuck, I want to go out dancing.

Conclusion: the 5 year old got out the bath, came in the front room, said "this is a bit weird" and turned it off.

We're now listening to 25 Rock'n'Roll Greats. He's currently jumping up and down to Tequila, having played his favourite Del Shannon song 3 times in a row :)

lucinda williams - world without tears

it's the last one of hers i have listed (2003) but i saw her in the papers the other day so she's still going, gonna track her down

I hadn't listened to it for ages, but it still holds up in a retro, kitchen sink kind of way. And yes, Spiral is definitely the stand-out track.
