That's very true. Are you doing a "Which of the 12 newest newly-created countries have you been to" thread?

I'd be interested to know what the 12 most recently created countries are actually ;)

Me too. Unfortunately though I have a bit of work to do today. Feel free to do such a thread yourself though...

I've been to Tonga and Samoa a fair bit, pretty dull. I have to go to Micronisia for work next year, can't imagine it's any more exciting. I don't know the other ones, I think you should go to PNG if if you really need to show off. Visiting countries that only have capital letters has got to be at least a minutes worth of brag in the pub.

I went to one but I don't remember its name? The whole island was an allegory for good versus evil if that helps. Also it could move. Through time.

I reckon he's just being blase and name-dropping countries to make us jealous

That's slightly unfair actually. It's more that Atomic's notion of excitement is slightly different from the rest of us. Remember how thrilled he was when little Boris took third place in the Hamster Derby?

Trips to Micronesia and New York City just don't press his buttons, that's all. And who among us will say he is wrong?

Very true, maybe if they'd had Hamster racing in Micronesia, he'd have had a better time :D

If anyone is particularly keen to visit Tuvalu I suggest they get a move on or they'll have to go there by submarine :(

Yeah, i've been there. I was only supposed to go for a few months but somehow the trip got pointlessly strung out for four or five years.

mate got a senior goverment role in the Mashall islands, advising on liberalising their economy or something. He fuckin hated the place - IIRC he cleaned out the only bookshop of decent reads in about 3 months - his commute company car was a land cruiser - and this is normal out there. Still, if you wanted to prowl the jungle and climb over bunkers and rotting WW2 hardware, it could be an interestring jaunt - the place is littered wif 'em
