Northern lights tonight (21st Dec 2014)

Assuming clear dark skies, there is an increased chance of seeing the aurora in the hours following the arrival of the CMEs, particularly on the night of the 21st of December. This is especially true for those in the North of Scotland.

According to the BBC, it will be cloudy here in Aberdeen.

When I was a lad, a bonnie wee lad, my mother said to me: "have you seen the northern lights my son? they're bright as they can be". She called them the heavenly dancers, merry dancers in the sky; I'll never forget that wondrous sight, it made the heavens bright.

And indeed, it appears to be cloudy. No northern lights, no stars, no nothing.

Cloudy across pretty much all of the UK, but never mind, the activity level isn't as high as predicted (CME was glancing).

Faint sightings here in Orkney. Nothing from my house and I've had a drink so can't have a drive out to see if I can find them.
