New Sparks Documentary

I saw it tonight - enjoyed it, informative, funny.. but at the same time it felt abit too much like an extended commercial at times.. I dunno what the fancy word for it is - but felt abit monotone, and too many talking heads.

Lots more albums to explore though!

Yes, I've just been to see it too :D
Interesting, I enjoyed it, stuff I didn't know especially the very early bands they were in pre 1974.

I remember buying the Half Nelson albums after hearing Kimono My House. Didn't think they were up to much tbh. However, This Town was both the greatest single ever made and at the same time guaranteed to clear the dance floor.

I don't like anything by edgar wright apart from his one fillum and there are too many irrelevants yapping away incl someone who was on the word 30 years ago but other than that it's great. How could it not be.

I watched this last night. I'd no interest in Sparks as a band and only ever heard the three big tunes so probably knew about as much about them as the average viewer. I loved the film though, they're every bit as funny as I didn't think they might be. I really don't listen to lyrics and Russel's voice is too irritating to explore their earlier stuff but the post 2000 stuff sounded interesting enough to have a listen. I didn't care too much for all the talking heads but overall found it a really uplifting and enjoyable film.

No, I've never been a lyrics person either - they're usually lost on me.
I remembered Sparks from This Town ain't... and when I saw the film I remembered another couple of their songs. I never realised they had made 25 albums!
I was not a particular fan but I did enjoy the film, loved the animations and the general whackyness of it all.
Big up to them for keeping going.
