Name the films and series you gave up on because the plot was so ridiculous

I've got a lot to add here, but I'll start with Civil War on Netflix.

The truly ludicrous plot sees what looks like a young child being bizarrely adopted by battle hardened war photographers who somehow are allowed to hang on the shirt tails of combatants as they go about coldly slaughtering all they see.

Rubbish.

Most Harlan Coben adaptations - the most recent one (I can't remember what it's called, "Missing You" or something like that) had such a ridiculous opening sequence that I found it difficult to struggle on with it.

Any of those Harlan Coben things on Netflix. I have a fair tolerance for ridiculous, but all the ones I've seen part of (don't think I ever finished one) blow the doors off of ridiculous and move firmly into ludicrous.

Edit: Touche, Epona

Yeah, I bailed on that one too.

There's so much utter shit being churned out on streaming networks.

Too many to name. When I was young I thought if you started a film you had to finish it. It was a wonderful glimpse of freedom to realise you didn’t.

The first film i actually walked out of the cinema during was one of the Clint Eastwood ones with the orangutan. I had gone with a group of friends but got bored and got the bus home.

She's 23 in that film, 26 now. I agree, she looks like a kid, but she actually was 23. I almost gave up on it but it actually got quite good.

The way the other war-hardened photographers just accepted taking a totally inexperienced super young amateur photographer using film (FFS!) on a wildly dangerous mission just stretched credulity to the limit.

Started with the Night Agent on Netflix last night. I think I have a high tolerance for shite but this was too much. The baddies have no reason to exist, are all-knowing and apparently invisible to law enforcement as well as needlessly brutal. We know who the chief baddie is from the opening scene. The goodies manage to escape their clutches at least twice an episode and it's all just too breathless and pointless.

The final 20 minutes or so are worth it. But it's a film, not a documentary. It's basically an anti-Trump/Proud Boys film. Though I agree the first bit is very much silly.

I gave up on that one too!

The Substance springs to mind. The point of the movie took a right old kicking in that one: "Stop, Stop, he's already dead" etc.
