More police brutality than you can shake a stick at.

More routine thuggery in this arrest of a homeless guy who was believed to be having a mental health crisis and resisted being detained.

Note the sinister pointing at the end of the footage.

On a very practical note demanding someone doesn’t resist while beating them to stop resistance is seen by coppers as a legitimate form of police escalation of violence

They train that way.

They shout stop resisting whilst beating you. Multiple police forces do this.
Grainne out of Camden stop the poll tax when we protested against thatcher during the 92 election, she was on the ground face down with a tsg thug wrenching her arms behind her back, she said let go that hurts and the pig said it's meant to. rip grainne

Yep. Seen this too many times for it to be 'bad apples' or any of that shit.

It's also done for the benefit of the tape if someone gets badly hurt and there's misconduct hearings or whatever.

In some cases, when they're restricting your breathing by kneeling on your ribcage, or using their bodyweight to put pressure on your skull, your body will not let you 'stop resisting' because your instincts say, 'if I give up, go limp, lie still, then I will die'. This is, in my opinion, torture. And again, standard practice. Not in the US or Iran or Russia; standard practice right here. I've seen it many times. Every time there have been multiple coppers on the scene and never have I seen any of them intervene to stop this kind of shit.

That was a “recognition like”.

It’s like if someone clamps their hand over your mouth and nose to try and suffocate you. You don’t have any choice about resisting once the CO2 starts to build up.

I think some of them are scared of intervening because of how it will look on the tape and what will happen to them after.

Only seen it once, with an older copper.

Bloody hell.
Body cam footage shows the police entering the apartment, detaining someone, then they
released a police dog which trotted around into the kitchen then barked at a bedroom door. Anderson held the dog back before opening the door and then immediately fired his gun into the bedroom as Lewis sat up in bed.

In a frame-by-frame breakdown of the video, police chief Elaine Bryant said that Anderson fired the gun when Lewis appeared to raise his hand while holding onto something.

“There was, like, a vape pen that was found on the bed right next to him,” Bryant said.

Lewis was transported to a hospital after treatment on the scene and later pronounced dead.

What a story.

“Abundant Life Ministries” looks like it could be the name of one of those “prosperity gospel” churches at first, but a quick Google (as well as the Pastor’s behaviour, obv) dispels that.

The pastor is suing the town and police force for arresting him for watering his friend's garden. The friend was gone on vacation and the pastor was looking after his home, picking up mail, watering the garden.

When I first read it, the article said he was arrested for not giving his name. Video shows him greeting the police and saying something along the lines of "Hi, I'm pastor #$%$ and I'm watering my friend's flowers"

Did I mention that he is Black?

Long one on LA County Sheriff's Department and its deputy gangs

It's all going off right now - LASD has executed search warrants on members of the civilian oversight body investigating deputy click gangs - with the raids overseen by an Under-Sheriff accused of being a gang member and who had repeatedly defied subpoenas to testify under oath

So LAPD are an organised crime gang. I know this already having posted at least one link to an article relating to this from the LA Times quite possibly on this thread. Sounds akin to the Met in the UK, but just worse.

Leading where the Met will surely follow... :hmm:

This is about LASD.
