Michel Blanc, a beloved 'worried clown' who was best known for his comedic roles, one of the very few people to win both an acting and a screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival, died on Friday, October 4.

One of French cinema’s major acting talents, and part of the fabled cafe-theatre comedy troupe Le Splendide alongside the likes of Gérard Jugnot, Thierry Lhermitte and Josiane Balasko, Blanc died after a heart attack.
