My car was fucked so I didn't make it out of town... checked the sky about 2am when the sky cleared for a bit and couldn't see no action. Pah.

It was a bit slow - about one every 8 min...

Pointless anyway - far too light in london, you have to get out into the country.
On a good clear night in London, you can sometimes get excellent views of the sky provided your not right in central London.

However, as I predicted, the sky was cloud-covered - rendering any sort of view impossible. As is usually the case whenever one of these events occurs. Now there's a surprise.

When the next one comes along in November I'm going to blast around in my car looking for gaps in the clouds like those crazy storm-chasers.

Think we all need to find a nice pub in a dark bit of countryside on the 19th November and look out for the leonids...

Right, its a crystal clear night, & I'm up a mountain pass, in the snow, with a flsak of strong coffee & motorbike thermals - they have started. Still over an hour till peak but will try for photos. Also seen a roe deer & two owls. :)

lucky man! I was told it's too cloudy here to see anything, but I regret not being outside right now.

that's it for another year. Not a record year but some great meteors nonetheless. Now turned into a misty grey, snowy morning.

FUCKING HELLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!

I was out in the middle of nowhere last night as well. My mate had the cover of ehr sunroof back and I spent most of the journey home looking at the sky and saying how amazing it was looking last night. If I'd known there was supposed to be meteors I'd have stayed up late :(

Any chance there might be any tonight?

There might be but at a greatly reduced rate. The Leonids are noted for being quite brief, we had a short but strong burst of them on Thursday night tho @8-8:30pm which had folk calling-in the police & coastguard about flares from ships/plane crashes etc so keep your eyes peeled. :)
