Men's Kickball

Giggs was seen on camera talking to Studg before the shootout, and you just *know* that he was saying "pick a side, dont change your mind, dont do anything flash and hit it hard and low"....

But Studg knows better. Like him taking that free kick in the last few minutes instead of Giggs.

What. A. Fucking. Doofus.

Don't you think that when Pearce said they had been practising penalties that some of what you think Giggs might have said would have been addressed then?

If anything it was Ramseys missed penalty that was the crucial spotkick not the lottery of a pen shoot out.

Sturridge was by far the best GB forward in the competition and he is only half fit.

Maybe so, but fwiw, I'm a Chelsea supporter and all I see from Sturridge is a "I know best attitude".

Messing with his run up just smacked of arrogance.

He thought he was Mario Balotelli who is prone to do silly things but is probably the best penalty taker in Europe.

I was watching that with another Man City fan; must admit we swapped smug grins.
Mancini was reportedly interested in bringing him back up north but after last night no chance. Good.
Did you see the bit at the end were Sordell tried to comfort him and he brushed him away pretty curtly.
Brighton on loan?;)

I know it wasnt :)

I was kind of bookmarking the post so that when the inevitable "Sturridge sold to Wolves/Luton/Brighton etc" story comes up I can be all smug

:p

Considering Sturridge has been linked with Man City, Spurs and Liverpool last season I think we can safely say that he won't be going outside the Premiership, I could think of a good six or seven clubs who would love him on loan.. The only possible club outside would be Bolton but can't see that tbh . Chelsea would have to sign at least one more striker even for him to go out on loan and Lakuku will be first priority to gain more experience with another club.( Kakutu will be lucky to stay in the Premiership)

My top five from the GB team: Butland - superb future ahead based on his performances, Bellamy - plenty of effort and determination, Ramsey -got better as the tournament went on and very hungry, Sturridge- only half fit and in the last game led the line with very little support, and Caulkner -very competent and has imo potential.

Near misses: Micah Richards- would rather see him fitter and at right back, Cleverly- good in bursts but not convinced.

Half-time in the final:

I saw this thread and thought "hmmm, kickball, that sounds like an interesting sport, I haven't seen it televised yet though, I wonder why?"

If that Mexican effort had gone in, instead of hitting the bar, it would have been one of the best goals in any international tournament final that I can remember.

Also Neymar getting punched in the face was hilarious.
