Meeting daughter’s boyfriend’s parents

Seriously I'm sure they are just as nervous.
Its strange isn't it? You get to a point where you can choose your acquaintances and friends and probably don't really have to have contact with people you don't like apart from colleagues......and then .....this. I really hope you just naturally get along and you all enjoy yourselves.

The fact that you like their son is a great beginning.

Ask them about their journey followed by the weather and an acknowledgement that yes Glasgow is always this wet.
Compliment their pizza choice. Then you can bring up pineapple on pizza yes or no and you're off. FEB v FSB. Cheese then beans, pancake v crepe v drop scone, bluebell v harebell, scon v scown, rangers v Celtic, bairn v bairn.

Yes, exactly. And I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Been through this twice now with Eldest and Middle daughters and it can be a bit testing at first. Relax and remember that they are going to be nervous and eager to make a good impression as well, also let the Mums do most of the talking they are just better at this socialising stuff than Dads.
If you like the boyfriend then chances are you will get on with his parents.

Dont be outdone at this early stage: you're the embarrassing one around here, and dont let them forget it!
They make their child put their head in their hands, you make yours crawl under the table.
