Louis Theroux - America's Most Dangerous Pets

Badgers

Mr Big Shrimp!
R.I.P.
Still on iPlayer

Not very pleasant viewing really. Pretty standard Theroux programme, kinda of sad and confrontational but in a weak way.

I know America is a big place and most people know the exotic pet thing over there is a big scary but still it is shite. You just want to shoot the poor dumb animals (the people not the pets) and put them out of their misery.

With more tigers in captivity in the U.S. than survive in the wild, the United States needs a centralized federal database to monitor the big cats, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) said this week.

His modus operandi only really works with freaks. Dreary Sepps with inappropriate pets just didn't make interesting enough telly.

Taught me that far from being cute and lovable, Chimps are horrible aggresive nutters. Well, when kept in small cages anyway. No wonder people get faces ripped off

Shameful shit really. Not good telly I agree but still hateful to see the fucktards allowed to be responsible for so many large animals. The people interviewed were no doubt picked for their oddness but even so there was some awful stupidity there.

It was uncomfortable viewing but worth making imo. Its possibly the first time i have seen him look genuinely frightened, not that you can blame him. The 120lb chimp smashing the window was terrible to see.

It was not really the point, but the man who had all the Tigers seemed in an interesting situation - he lived in a permanent homosexual literal menage a trois. I think Louis' strength is getting to the people behind the main point of the prog

Monkeys with pierced ears???? Wtf!!! and as for that bozo punching the cat,be an awful shame if it ripped his head off some day.

Incredibly strong as well, can rip a man's arm off, people usually get them when they're small and cute not reliasing they grow up to be big and aggressive

when chimps are bald, which they occassionally are, you can see just how muscular they are, and what nuts they have too.

Well, in that infamous incident the chimp pulled thw womans hands off, thats a mean feat of strength.

Boring, insecure people who seek attention with exotic animals as pets.

"they understand when you tell them they're beautiful".

A better doc was the channel 4 one a few years ago about the american's who keep the little monkeys as surrogate kids. Was fascinating that one.

Given the freak who killed himself and let all the animals loose, this was a well timed warning about private zoos

I found it all a bit depressing - i love tigers, and to see them caged in that way was just cruel.

Louis rightfully described them as inmates, rather than pets. Pacing is a real sign of stress for caged animals, and them poor sods seemed to be doing it a lot.

I agree, that said you shouldn't be humansing theroux by calling him Louis.

Those arms are really man like

The woman who bred the chimps, and there were loads in tiny cages, then she said she didn't want to talk about it anymore :(

The 'travelling zoo' was particularly worrying to watch, the baby tiger and bear in together did look unbelievably cute, but still....

what about the kangaroo in the pushchair??!!
