London Film Festival 2023

I saw Maestro, directed and starring Bradley Cooper and The Holdovers, directed by Alexander Payne and starring Paul Giamitti.

The latter was excellent and good fun with great performances all round, with Giamatti great as always. In my opinion, Maestro was not so fun. It looks nice and has good performances but I didn’t learn a great deal about Leonard Bernstein.

Saw 10 films in the end, three French, three Latin American, three English language (including two documentaries) and one German language. Most were pretty decent.

And yes, even with priority booking and joining the queue as soon as it opened, quite a few things were already sold out.
