Left Wing UK Actors

Michael Caine, Vince Vaughn, James Woods, Jon Voigt, Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Charlton Heston all have right wing tendencies - not sure I'd avoid watching any films of theirs.
I couldn't watch Mel Gibson off that list, but for me it's as much about whether they are twats/entitled twats/abusive twats or twats plain and simple.

I also wouldn't be interested in something which i'd regard has shit politics. Then of course one can argue where the line between "challenging" and "shit" lies.
I completely agree. No fight there at all.

what has happened to us? :)

Davos from game of thrones endorsed Solidarity, their PBP candidates anyway - little bit sectarianism. The WSM got a flurry of tweets out of their failure to spell 'education' correctly in their vid.

He is also a denier as regards chemical attacks in Syria. In that camp.

Doesn't like the Tories at least since his LGBT activism starting with section 28. When Michael Howard asked for an autograph for his children, McKellen wrote "Fuck off, I'm gay" instead.

I was even a bit disappointed to find that Welsh actor who plays the dwarf in Lord of the Rings is a headbanger and I wasn't that into the film.

I just looked him up and the most shocking thing I discovered is that he’s actually 6’1”

Dorky film fact: originally they were planning to film the hobbits, the dwarf and the humans in three separate shots and then digitally scale them together so the sizes of the races worked. However, the height difference between JRD and the actors playing the hobbits matched the dwarf:hobbit ratio, so they filmed them as one group and only did the humans separately.

Double dorky film fact: Most of the time they used forced perspective instead of digital effects to scale actors:

As a Northerner, it annoys me greatly that neither of them (well I suppose Patrick Stewart gets a pass) have their northern accents anymore.

Even if it is Yorkshire.

As classical stage actors, who started when they did, their careers would probably have been non-starters with a Northern accent.

Patrick Stewart often talks about how PTSD fucked up his dad and how his mother suffered years of domestic abuse as a result.

Big kudos to the guy.

Robert Lindsay, who appropriately enough is famous for this character

I used to see David Calder at left-wing meetings and demos in South London back in the day. Funnily enough, he was always good at playing the bad guy or establishment type in various British dramas on TV or film.

I hav lived in Scotland near 26 years, I haven't lost my accent.
Though let's be fair, if you were from that shithole that is Yorkshire, you would want to lose that accent as soon as humanly possible.
