Just read this on wiki about Maxine Peake <to me Twinkle from Dinnerladies

Political views[edit]

Peake brings her views into much of her work.[41] She is a feminist and socialist. She was active in communist organisations during her youth and a member of Communist Party of Britain.[42] In January 2014, Peake won the first Bolton Socialist Club Outstanding Contribution to Socialism Award, for using her work to oppose the government's "crippling austerity measures".[43]

In July 2015, Peake endorsed Jeremy Corbyn's campaign in the Labour Party leadership election. She wrote on her website: "For me, Jeremy Corbyn is our only beacon of hope to get the Labour Party back on track, get the electorate back in touch with politics and save this country from the constant mindless bullying of the vulnerable and poor."[44]

In January 2016, Peake featured in the Climate Coalition's short film I Wish For You as Mia, with Jeremy Irons starring as her grandfather, to highlight the urgency on combating climate change.[45]

In 2016, along with numerous other celebrities, Peake toured the UK to support Jeremy Corbyn's bid to become Prime Minister.[46][47]

In April 2017, Peake endorsed Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn in the 2017 UK general election. She said: "I am a Corbyn supporter. My mind boggles why people treat him like the anti-Christ, but it goes to show people are a lot more right-wing than they like to believe."[48]

In November 2019, along with other public figures, Peake signed a letter supporting Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn describing him as "a beacon of hope in the struggle against emergent far-right nationalism, xenophobia and racism in much of the democratic world" and endorsed him in the 2019 UK general election.[49

Actors and politics usually ends in embarrassment at some point, but still, who else is there?

Im pretty sure Christopher Ecclestone is alright

I remember seeing Michael Sheen on the news during the Wales flooding blasting the government and I think he gave a shitload of money to both the victims of that and now the NHS. He was more eloquent than any of the opposition politicians.

And he's a fucking good actor too.

Michael Sheen moved back to Port Talbot and supports a load of local causes, and gave away most of his savings to bankroll the Homeless World Cup last year. He's a good sort.

And i know it said up there earlier but he's a brilliant actor. Goes under the radar a bit, maybe because a lot of his roles are impersonating actual people. His latest thing in Quiz is uncanny.

An educated guess says

Peter Mullan
Christopher Eccleston
Robert Carlyle
Simon Pegg (probably more a fellow traveller)
