Labour Jews to Chuka Umunna – Stop using antisemitism smears against Corbyn

You really haven’t been on it for years. ;) Its all "Pop" now. The Village is so yesterday. :D
We went to that Pop place, it was disappointing. Crap expensive food, nowhere to sit, overwrought design of containers and noisy with teenagers. Well, maybe they're in their 20s but they look/act like teenagers. We scuttled away quickly. At least the craft beer place on the corner has nice beer even if that's expensive and crowded (their new manager is previously from the Falcon, nice guy), the Pop didn't even have good beer. I'm scared to go into the Brixton forum section now, yet also intrigued...

Can we move this thread back to Brixton Forum please mods

I hope that's joke. Antisemitism in the Labour Party and the maneuvers of Chucka Ummuna against Corbyn and Momentum pertain the whole of the country... I think.

E2a: I'd not come across the thread if it were in the Brixton Forum because I rarely go there (when I go to London I don't go there either although I do try to pit stop in Stockwell for a bica and a Portuguese cream pastry).

I started the thread in the Brixton forum and it was then moved to politics - you have actually started two threads about Chuka in Brixton which have stayed there. Why move this one? It's more interesting to Brixton residents no? Can it go back?
It is interesting and I have only just started reading it, and wouldn't have done if it was in the Brixton forum.

You gave two reasons one of which was that a lot of posters have Brixton on ignore.

I beg to differ on it being on "wrong" forum for reasons Soupdragon gives ( that there have been posts on Chuka on Brixton Forum) and that Chuka sees himself as the MP for Brixton.

And started manoeuvring to put himself forward to be MP for Brixton as soon as the boundary changes were proposed in 2010/11.

Then royally shot himself in the foot with a lot of Brixtonites young and old, by presuming to speak for "Brixton" when farting on about how appalling the "Thatcher's Dead" party in Windrush Square was, and how it was all horrible people, and not locals at all. Clueless cunt.

tuechter and his middle class mates basically. Thats all you need to know. Snide pricks like winnet. Very keen to deny or explain away other people circumstances.

Careful, you'll be getting PMs from teuchter demanding that you explain your comment (yes, he does have form for doing that).

Just had a look, saw some tit banging on about bag checks at what sounds like a shitty bar being about terrorism. My condolences to the denizens of Brixton. South London is fucked.
Yep. That's the kind of pathetic crap that is routinely trotted out by the same bunch of people who would be quite happy to see the forum completely destroyed, just so they can continue their tedious vendetta.

Thing is, it is only a handful of posters, almost all of whom I have on permanent ignore, in an attempt to avoid getting dragged in and hopefully making the place look at least slightly inviting to newcomers (I meet many people who tell me they're put off joining in because of the endless petty and spiteful pointscoring that dominates most of the discussions). It's a real shame. It's like the forum is echoing the area and has been gentrified as well. :(

I forgot about that.

He also supported the New Labour Council in lobbying the government ( that is the Tory one) to extend the anti squatting laws to commercial property.

Depressingly the issue of Chuka has got a better response here than it got on the Brixton Forum. Apart from me it got shown little interest on the Brixton Forum.
yes, and most of the posts on it ( apart from yours ) have been about Brixton or the Brixton forum :hmm:

Thats because soupdragon is in Brixton and posted up on the Brixton Forum and it got moved.

I do think Brixton is relevant. Chuka is often making pronouncements on Brixton as he sees himself as as able to speak on behalf of black people in Brixton. But his actual politics are very much middle of the road New Labour now. A lot of what he says re Brixton is fair enough. But as with a lot of Labour MPs when it comes down to it he will not challenge the entrenched inequalities in society.

Lambeth Labour Council are good example of what the rest of the country will get if Corbyn is ousted. Chuka, Helen Hayes and Progress dominated Lambeth Council ( The "Coop Council") really think they are the alternative to Corbyn.

Sometimes its worth looking at the local.
