Strange position for buttons. Do they do any actual buttoning ?Buttons.
They are in a place that there used to be buttons in the past (a massive cuff). But, no, they're just patter nowadays.Strange position for buttons. Do they do any actual buttoning ?
Well, as I'm sure none of are able to get with any work 'till you've got update...
Minor argument with my wife this morning. She doesn't want to spend "hundreds" on my outfit, but equally didn't like my suggestion of saving money and stress by not going facepalm: well played chilango).
Oops.
I'm leaning towards "lowland dress" at the moment. I could so pull this off.
He's doing a 'kin 'ell, though. Is Salmond doing the quenelle?
Think the increase in the kilt wearing thing is interesting. When I was growing up in Southern Scotland, kilts at weddings and the like were so rare as to be remarkable. Same at family things in Edinburgh. Now they're relatively common. Not quite sure why.
Is this a cry for help?
If by "help" you mean a link to somewhere selling tartan trews cheaply, then yes it is.
I think you need an intervention.
I'd go for this, but I'd wear a plain black waistcoat. If I were you I'd also have a self tie bowtie, they look great when untied worn with an open necked shirt and full formal dress. Think like this, but with the trews etc (he should have his finger off the trigger, and should be wearing a cummerbund, otherwise this is a very sexy look)Well, as I'm sure none of are able to get with any work 'till you've got update...

I think the whole kilt thing would look better with doc martens imo.
Like because they are so hideous!
thats just skirting around the problemhere used to be a bloke in the Barras markets in Glasgow who sold proper, old skool, quality kilts. i got a rather lovely Buchannan one for about £40 - however, as this information 10 years old, and its quite possible that neither the bloke, nor the markets, still exist, you may not want to rely on it too heavily...
anyway, i think i may have solved both of chilango's problems - a cheap kilt, and not being invited to the next shindig.
no charge, merry exmas etc...
Sadly, my wife doesn't seem as keen on the trews as I am
Looking more likely to be a hire outfit supplemented by buying a cheapish kilt in MacDonald tartan. I think.
i see your drama, but i'd still be pushing for forgetting the rest of the outfit, and spending as much as poss on a decent kilt, rather than spending what you've got on on stuff you're not going to keep. cheap kilt - itchy bits...
Bandages like a mummy. It's my Scottish family bit that's making the tartan specific. I also have to go to a Burns night and a wedding. I have nothing to wear for either.
I think this might be like the Stanley Boil Thread, and there is no real intention to purchase or wear a kilt at all.
The market still exists The Official - Glasgow Barras Market Pageits quite possible that neither the bloke, nor the markets, still exist, you may not want to rely on it too heavily..
