First time round i underappreciated sid james, it's only since listening again over the last couple of years that i've noticed real compassion and concern in james' voice as he pulls the latest hancock scam.

Kenneth Williams for me.. Never really understood why Sid James was the star. Charles Hawtrey was the other star in Carry On films.. KW Diaries are probably my favourite book.

I read and enjoyed Kenneth Williams’s diaries some years ago. I remembered this earlier today.

Very funny and biting at times. On the flipside recounting of scrambled dalliances doing what I assume was cottaging, referred to as “tradioli” are particularly tragic as they are when his self loathing really comes to the fore.
