Keith Richards takes over BBC4 for the weekend

The Red Baron
Just stumbled across this tonight but Keith Richards is taking over the whole of BBC4 for the weekend.

It started about an hour ago and is pretty decent so far - just him talking about stuff that he likes and has found interesting with clips and interesting little vignettes.

Might be worth a look if you're staying in.

Not sure about that - it is literally the whole of BBC4's programming from 7pm to 3-4am for three nights in a row.

Unless he decides to show a film that the BBC couldn't get full rights for (or some sort of live sporting event I suppose), why wouldn't it be available on iplayer?

Anyway, this has been highly entertaining so far.

Loving this have to say...39 steps was ace... Reggae interlude with a kitten for visuals.... Amazing tv

39 steps is worth watching as a Hitchcock completist. Otherwise, it's a very flawed film. Hitchcock got much better at making films than that.

Talking Keith i saw this week he did two albums of Rasta spirituals.... Well, he played on them and produced it.
Fallen angels I think it was called. Something angels.
Hard to search and post on phone

I like the old man selection...he couldve gone a lot more rocknroll

The 4th Keith segment "Surfing the Wee, Wee Hours" has a whole deranged sequence "from the BBC archive" with toys, dolls and daleks, while yer man is away making a cup of tea. That's def made for this show, I think?

I was very much enjoying Keith, but was so tired I fell asleep during 39 steps, which I was really enjoying, but couldn't keep my eyes open.

I could listen to Keith all day. He's quite a clever chap, quite the reader by all accounts.....and while I know most of his stories are just half truths, the man can turn dull into myth, and he is a proper bastard (I dislike hearing him talk down Brian's contribution), I am quite fond of him.

I won't be impressed unless they broadcast Cocksucker Blues uncut!

Watching the Temple film, when I told Mrsvic he's 72, she said he looks 20 years older.

I said after all the gear he's done, he looks great, i.e. still alive.

It's all rather unpleasant.

Bicycle Thieves is on around midnight tonight, my Mum was keen to record it, Keith who? she says.
Also showing tonight is Julian Temple's 'London, the Modern Babylon' which I've never managed to see so I'm really looking forward to that too. Plus there's a johnny Cash film, with more Keef bits, so it's looking like a top night on the sofa.

may not be as good as other hitchcock films, but as a Black and white British film it stands out a lot compared to other b&w british films, dont you reckon?
