IWCA - Articles

I have recently read (or re-read) the vast majority of back issues of Red Action and Fighting Talk, that are thankfully very easy accessible online. Fascinating in a lot of ways to read back, with the benefit of hindsight, articles from those active in left wing/anti-fascist/Irish solidarity work in Britain at that time. A great historical reference. Unfortunately both publications came to an end in 2001 (though there was no formal 'last' issue of either)

I was hoping to follow up with my reading on the written output of the IWCA, which became the focus of a lot of RA/AFA personnel. I knew they never had a printed publication but I recall an active website with very interesting, thought out articles on a number of subjects. When I checked though the website is gone.

I was wondering is there anywhere online to read these instead? As a side note, to me this reinforces my belief in the importance of papers, magazines, bulletins etc. as too much is lost on the internet (deleted websites, social media, forums)

Also most of the recent IWCA output has been on their Facebook: Independent Working Class Association - IWCA

There was at least one national newsletter also:

And a printed introduction (which I think was also on the iwca.info website):

Archives of IWCA branches:

Harold Hill and Havering

Oxford

Islington

Blackbird Leys:

Possibly there were more?

Finally the IWCA tag on Libcom is worth a look: Independent Working Class Association (IWCA) (most of this is not by the IWCA itself and much of it is critical. There is an especially comical critique from Black Flag titled "Anarchism and Community Politics").

There were hard copy newsletters for different areas but no main publication on sale or whatever.

In Oxford at least, copies of newsletters were dropped off at the main (Westgate) library so they could be added to their archives. So hard copies of those at least should be available.

In my dream there's some revolutionaries organising in their areas/neighbourhood/locality conference coming up in 2026 and the IWCA and groups like the HSG present their stories...
