It's a grim Christmas around Brixton: no lights, no tree and no funfair

This is the bleakest I've ever known it. No Morleys tree, no Windrush Sq funfair and - as far as I can see - no Christmas lights anywhere. And naturally, no statement from the council and nothing from Brixton Bid who are still claiming:

Each year we install Christmas Lights and Christmas Tree in Brixton town centre. As part of the event we host a switching on of the lights with live music and press for the local community.

Are Brixton Bid like the Brixton project? i.e achieving very little by way of benefiting the people of Brixton?
