Italy V Spain

you play to your strengths though, if you're an older and less outstandingly gifted side than your opponents then you choose the tactics to give you the best chance of winning.

Who is the Italian player who is so old looking he brings to mind Iggy Pop's dad?

Of course, that's fair enough, I was just responding to the whole "deserving to win" thing; for most people the team that tries the hardest to score deserves success, beacuse they are a) playing football how it 'should be played' (in their eyes, and especially in England) and b) it's more entertaining.

Of course that alludes to the question of what the point in football (and by extension, all sport) is: success, or entertainment?

But I rather feel that's a whole other thread ;)

In the meantime, it's interesting watching this game, but could do with a bit of excitement as well :p

Fab should have been on from the start.

he's used to defensive/physical teams week in week out.

Had that gone in, Buffon would no doubt have come in for Cech-like "not as good as everyone says" criticism - as it is, everyone will forget and he's still great.

These small things...
