I like your optimism and really hope it's well founded.
Most of my fam live not many metres above sea-level on the South of the Swale across from the Island, so it has always been a topic capable of raising concern. Over the years I've seen reports of conflicting views about the stability of the ordnance.

Tbf there are periodic mutterings about removing the explosives

Would have thought Sheppey would stop any 'tsunami' and the blast would be very attenuated especially if you were 'downwind' of a built up area or large buildings for example Sittingbourne Travel Lodge.
