Iraq not to go to Olympics?

I'm really sad to hear this. I've met some Iraqi athletes in exile recently and it seems being high profile at many things in Iraq can lead you to be a target for kidnappings etc so it seems the athletes are training at huge personal risk. Channel 4 has just interviewed some who are clearly desperately attend. It'll be very sad if all their effort goes to waste.

Yeah, what's this all about? Isn't it something to do with the sporting body behaving naughty or something that has led to this? Read something about this a while back.

The original idea is about meeting in peace - the wars stopping etc.. I can't think of a place on Earth that needs it more...
