Like most channels, S4C is sadly being filled with dumbed down celebrity worship tripe, but it's had a few decent natural history programmes recently; Yr Afon (about 6 of the worlds large rivers) and Natur Cymru.
A new 4 part series has started last Tuesday called Lleisiau'r Rhyfel Mawr (Voices of the Great War), and although there's going to be a lot abuot WWI on at the moment, this one's different as it's from a Welsh perspective, drawing mainly from letters from Welsh soldiers and from the Welsh language press.
It mentions subjects such as the role that non-conformist ministers played to recruit men and how Lloyd George used his role as the Day President at the National Eisteddfod in Bangor to rally support for the war - imagine a UK Chancellor turning up to an Eisteddfod these days and doing that!
Anyway, just though it might be of interest to history buffs ion this forum.
As with almost every programme on S4C these days, it has English subtitles, and each episode can be watched for up to 30 days on CLIC (similar to the BBC's i-player)
