How long before Trump and Musk fall out?

I think they've already fallen out to be fair but I have a vague feeling that the Shitgibbon is more reluctant to make a enemy out of the Emperor of Mars than he is other people he's made enemies of in the past.
Both have gigantic egos and somewhere in the last few functioning brain cells in Trump's noggin there is a vague awareness that Musk has the wealth, power and general nastiness to make his life difficult even if he is the President.

Social media is full of graphics of Trump serving Musk who is sat at a desk, or musk pulling Trumps strings (as a puppet) I am sure they will have pissed Trump off already.

That said, it seems Trump is flexing slightly in Musk's direction, e.g. foreign students that qualify in the US might be allowed to stay, is it H1B? And something about cheaper foreign workers in Musk's factories ..

I'd have thought it'd have mostly likely happened directly after the election. Musk is much, much richer than Trump, who could see himself as a failure in comparison.

I agree that they will almost certainly have had their differences already but it's when any clash or conflict of authority happens in public view that the shit will really start flying.

Musk IMO will be expecting a lot in return for his funding/support, possibly more than has been discussed - access to real power, of the sort that all his money can't so easily buy might be one of them, even though he (and Trump of course) has amply demonstrated a complete inability to cope with.

Musk will try to sack the majority of government workers. The less mad Republicans will object and it won't get through. Trump will blame Musk who will storm off claiming that the GOP is a socialist organisation.

But then again, while I don't think Musk is half as clever as he thinks he is - he's just very good at spotting opportunities and exploiting them - Musk will surely know what side his bread is buttered on. So I think Musk is likely to turn a blind eye to Trump's tantrums and humour him, providing that Trump is ultimately delivering what Musk wants/needs, and I have no doubt that Musk can manipulate him and run rings round him.

Trump is an ego-maniac crass bully.

Musk is more of an ego-maniac of the Machiavellian manipulator kind.

The visa thing looked a likely point of fracture but then Trump seems to have sided with the tech bros; not sure if there's anything else policy-wise that might engender a split. Trump getting sick of the twat and his posturing obviously still on.

I think there's a very deliberate attempt to mess with Trump's psyche in terms of posting those. People know exactly how unstable he is and the likely impact of putting anything online that suggests he isn't the one in control.

I think Musk is a very clever individual, he's an utter cunt with an ego the size of a planet and the principles of a sociopathic rattlesnake but definitely very smart. Whereas Donnie Dumbass is as thick as the proverbial pigshit.
I think you're right in that Musk is manipulating Trump, it will be interesting to see how long it goes on before we get a supercritical mass on the ego front.

I don't think they will, at least initially or in public. They both benefit from the current situation and Trump/his team are not as incompetent as folk like to pretend. But I do think Trump's outriders will pick at Mush in preparation for a sidelining - in fact we're already seeing it happen. And there's a good chance the vested interests in Trump's circle will see him as a rival and brief against him even if daddy doesn't.
