Ah, apologies re: Adverts for gigs/events/parties are not allowed unless cleared beforehand by the admin team (PM with your request). Signature files/avatars are also disabled and putting in links to your own website with every post isn't permitted either: we want to hear your opinions, not see the same link with every post!

So any tips on how to get round it.. shall I email the admin team?

Oh and El calm down, your gonna give your self a heart attack with that sarcasm!

Forum Rules up top.

Basically, no unsolicited advertising is allowed here. If you're already a part of the community here and have an event to promote, it's usual to ask permission first, and then offer discount/guest list to forum members. Rocking up out of nowhere and advertising is Not On.

So, feel free to hang around and join in the boards, but please don't advertise your event - that's not what this site is for.

this is above that pub isn't it.
i have doubts about how busy it can get\amount of people willing to spend a whole evening here n rave.
anyone able to dispell these doubts?

@Chrystal: btw, been 'done' for spamming myself, so don't feel silly, happens to all the good promoters ;)

Basically is there anyway of me telling Brixton people about this free night? I'll have a look around the site tho... but what happens then? Part of the community.. is that online or does living in brixton your whole life count? I don't get it?? x

"Basically is there anyway of me telling Brixton people about this free night?"

Go out flyering in Brixton

That would probably work

:)

Imagine you've just met some new people in a bar. Which approach do you think might get the best response?

1. Shove your flyers in their face and bugger off?
2. Introduce yourself, stay for a chat, get to know them and later on perhaps mention you're doing an interesting night and that you could sort out some guest passes for them?

This is a community site, not a noticeboard.

Done that! It's about, ta Chris.

I'd say 2.. lol!!!! Right, I get you now....but I must say your not the most inviting bunch! Ta anyways x

We're inviting as you like towards people who don't advertise on their first post :)

You've got that arse about tit. You're the one charging in thinking the rules don't apply to you and pissing people off. Everyone else is getting along just fine.

:D

I have been on here before, was invited but didn't get it so it's not my first post actually. my first was a few years back I must say! Oh and it is a cool space mc an I don't feel silly, ta anyways.. I can handle it! x

Editior, when did I say the rules didn't apply to me? Yes, I apologiesed re: Adverts for gigs/events/parties are not allowed unless cleared beforehand by the admin team (PM with your request). What????

on the contrary, a good promoter would have the sense to check out how things work first so they can promote their night in a positive way without getting banned or their thread deleted, for example

was semi in jest...but seeing as u took this up

i think most Promoters who run successful nights promote where they can, and take a ‘slap on the wrist’ occasionally as part n parcel of getting your name out wherever possible.
Clubs like ministry of sound do this all the way down to the little independent club nights

Both good points but as I said before, El will give himself a heart attack lol! He needs to calm down! x Rules are there to be respected and broken.. depends on the context, re:urban.. I made a mistake and have no issue sayin it, what I will say is, having a bad/defensive attitude is not cool. x

Oh and if you do see the posters around, I didn't do them, got a mate to do it an he f-ed it up! An seein as it's a free event, I didn't wanna get them re done as that's time and money you know? But if there is a next time they will be more pro.. this event is a first for me!! Bye x An will be back, it's interesting, I must say! x

I've no idea why you keep requoting irrelevant rules about avatars and signatures, but I don't think you're doing much to instil a positive impression of your club at the moment.
