Not the most judicious of phrases. Reminds me of discussions had when we introduced discounts for the like of military personal and blue light services. Was mentioned then that a newly qualified nurse laden with debt might pay the same as a high level surgeon on a six figure salary or a humble squaddie the same as the Chief of the Defence Staff. But this was down to the individual to decide not for us. Same on Saturday. It’s “Pay What YOU Want” not what the club feels you should pay.
Absolutely hit the nail on the head here, Paula. "YOU" is the right word to emphasize.
We're happy if people want to come and watch a game of football for a couple of pence, equally we're not going to turn anyone latching a trailer full of (genuine) 50s onto the back of their car and leaving it at the turnstiles. There is no expectation, nor obligation to pay a certain minimum amount.
We'll have a bucket for people to drop their donation into, so there's no pressure to explicitly show what you wish to pay, we'll have a card machine available for anyone that did away with cash years ago.
Looking forward to renewing acquaintances again with one or two of you again.
