Hendon v Dulwich Hamlet - Tues 22nd February 2022

Just reading on twitter about shocking mugging of dulwich programmes seller wish him all the best quite happy like most dulwich fans to give him a collection for his loses wish him all the best
Not that it really matters as a mugging is still a mugging but the person who was attacked was our programme editor. Happened around 6pm when it was still twilight - poor man had a knife pulled on him. Lost his wallet without a struggle but still got a punch in the face for his trouble, which is very courageous to hit a defenceless 70-something year old. As you'd expect, the Hendon people were absolutely superb and took very good care of the victim, and the police were also on the scene quickly and were professional and thorough in their response. I understand that this is the first time anything like this has happened in this location and the ironic thing is that had the victim been even 30 minutes later, there would have been a steady stream of people walking along the same path.

Not sure who that mob at the back of the stand behind the goal were, certainly not regulars - far too vocal for that!

Thanks to you for travelling up in such numbers, it was nice to have a cup tie with a bit of an atmosphere to it rather than played in front of 75 people with better things to talk about on the night. Apologies for the lack of Tring beer on, time and circumstance played a part in that, and apologies pompeydunc for not catching up as hoped, manpower shortages meant I had to step in and do the turnstiles.

I thought the game was a good one to watch, the way you play helped our ball players express themselves, the closest side to you in our league are Hayes & Yeading who move the ball with purpose, most of the rest are 6'4" clones and very direct. Some terrific finishes at both ends - I thought Reisse had snatched it at the death with the header.

Thank you as well for your generosity with our bucket collection after the game, that'll go towards the Supporters Trust and running costs of the club. It's very much appreciated.

Finally, on behalf of everyone at the club, we'd like to wish John a very full and speedy recovery. We were all absolutely shocked to the core by what happened - Rob, the guy who runs everything off the pitch at SJP felt personally responsible that the attack had happened on his manor.

Good luck for the rest of the season, hope you manage to get yourselves into the play-offs. I'll try and get down if there's any midweeks between now and the end of April.

Hendon should be everybody's 2nd favourite club (unless you're a Hendon supporter of course)!

I wish John a speedy recovery physically and psychologically from that most cowardly attack.
