help decide my vote please

OK, I have always been an SNP voter in the past, but I have a problem with the SNP candidate in my region (seen some frankly puerile comments she made in the press) so don't especially want to vote for HER. Our current MSP is Lib Dem who are sort of my second party choice. He seems like a sensible bloke (have met him) but I'm not sure if my feelings about an individual candidate should outweigh my party preference or vice versa? :confused: My 2nd vote will be going to the Greens btw. How do you decide?

well I'm voting for Solidarity, Tommy Sheridan's new party. Sick and tired of all the main parties and Sheridan has been one fo the few politicians in the Scottish parliament who actually stands for something compared to the rest of the nonentities.

This year I will be voting for the only politician that has ever done anything to help me.
If the candidate of the party you would normally vote for is a twat then don't vote for them, imo.

I think I may just close my eyes and pick a box(after covering the Labour and SNP ones with my hand) ;)
For the locals I'll probably go with an independent.

make it easy, just dont vote;

however, if you are closing eyes and picking a box after covering labour and snp, mebbe you should cover bnp as well

and mebbe the christian parties

Spoiled vote? Would agree with whoever said that you shouldn't vote for a candidate if theyr'e a twat. Last time I voted I drew a picture of a unicorn on the ballot and stuck an x next to that. Don't bother voting anymore :(

I think I'm mellowing in my rancid old age. I find myself liking (almost respecting) one or two politicians, so much so that I wouldn't want them shot or even imprisoned come the Glorious Day. For instance I have time for some of the Green MSPs like Robin Harper, Chris Ballance and the last Labour MSP with integrity, Elaine Murray. I even don't throw up at the sight of one or two of the Parliamentary Trots from the SSP and Solidarity -- but not Tommy Sheridan who I despise for so many reasons (demagoguery during the anti-Poll Tax struggles; being a grass; sucking up to dictators; saying one thing in party meetings and another in his campaign literature; the incoherence of many of his policies, his attempted personality cult etc).

Usually I spoil my ballot, but as the BNP are standing here (both in Council and Scottish Parliamentary elections) I'll probably vote for a Green or SSP to diminish the share of the far-right's vote.

I'll be voting Green again. I've even got roped in to delivering voting cards tonight:rolleyes:

can't stand labour - in all its westminster, edinburgh and local 'one party state' guises - for its incompetance, dishonesty and arrogance but despise the (heavily disguised) nationalism of the SNP and its 'makey-uppey' economics.

as they are neck and neck (nationally) and voting for anyone else is wasting my vote - as well as offering some very unsavoury charactors - i'm deeply puzzled as to who to vote for...

as a side issue, i recieved some sheet of shite from the BNP. anyone know how i can return it to them in a manner that will cost them a fortune?

Wrapped round a brick(or similar heavy object) seems to be the favoured method. Dunno if you have to write they will pay delivery or not.
