Hellboy 2 - trailer

Just saw it; the story is very very simplistic which is a shame because everything else is really good. Though the idea of HB and Liz doing it is too bizarre for words. A bit underwhelming really, but that's it's only flaw.

Just watched this. Preferred it to the first, although the Golden Army were a bit of a let down.

I've never read the comic books, is the romance part of the story or added for the film?

from what i've read, part of the film. I didn't care for it, personally. I see no need to rationalise the character by way of romance.

It's a good movie, but the plot is pretty thin and it's more fantasy than the pulp horror that encapsulates the comics and part 1. I would have preferred to see the Nazi head in a jar guy as the antagonist and not Bros :D

The Goss bloke is a suprise - he can really act and carries it off really well. Lots of other good things about it too, can't recommend it highly enough.

Can someone shine a light for me here.

Why is everyone so excited? The first film was really lame.

Its just a rubbish hybrid of X-Files and X-Men.

It isn't scary.

It isn't very funny.

The special effects are ok, but you could say about a dozen films released this year.

The plot will be exactly the same as the last film.

So what's the point?

I can think of plenty of better uses for 2 hours and £8.

Two things

he shaves his horns cos he is embarrassed to be a demon

Luke Goss is the baddy. And apart from Bros - he was *ace* in Blade 2 as the main baddy

BRING IT OOOONNNNN!!!!

I just had to check IMDB to find out you weren't kidding about Luke Goss. I have to watch it now!

Saw the first one last night, and it was light, well-choreographed fun. Don't think I'd bother going to the cinema for HB2, but I would watch it on TV/DVD for sure.

So don't go see it then!

If you didn't like the first one, you won't like this one and I am sure no-one here cares enough about that to want to try and convince you otherwise.....

:)

 x EPIC.

I guess you aren't familiar with the comic.

Saw it tonight - didn't realise that was him. Impressed.
Film was enjoyable enough, visually great, some nice comic touches, that's it.

I liked it, i knew what to expect and thats exactly what i got. I loved the clockwork pieces and the fact that a lot of it was done with costumes and animation rather than full blown CGI (i know someone will be along in a bit to tell me i am foolin myself), and yeah all in all a enjoyable experience. Luke Goss all i can say is holy shit he has come along way since i was 10 years old:oops:, the only thing i didnt like was the fact that they changed Abe's voice other than that brilliant!:)

Check out Blade 2.....he's good in that too !

Saw this the on Sunday and really liked it, though it could have done without the relationship drama. In fact I loved the look of the film so much that the plot fell slightly short.

I didnt know Luke goss was in the film, but after hearing him speak, it bugged me for a about half an hour before gasping 'OMG, I think its the guy from Bros!' to my partner. He looked beautiful as did his sister.

Guillermo Del Toro's aesthetic is so full and rich, I wanted to pause the film to take it all in- the costumes and the set design were just fabulous.
The richness and intricacy of the costumes, Del Toro's continuing motifs, his continued fascination for highly designed intricate clockwork contraptions and the way he makes darkness look so glossy and beautiful.

Loved the death throes of the giant Tree God, it was so beautiful and also the aerial shot of the Antrim boulders turning into the stone figure/ portal.

It just seemed so unbelievable, but then I haven't seen Blade2 (or Blade 1, for that matter). It's just such a huge career change - but then, who'd have thought Jim Robinson from Neighbours would end up being a major character in lots of American TV series?

Just finished watching the first one, which I hadnt seen. I liked the clockwork sawdust nazi with no lips!

But overall, I much preferred the lush, rich quality of the second film; Prince Nuada and his sister totally make the sequel.

Something about Princess Nuala put me in mind of Calista Flockhart- a spacey/ not quite connected air plus the sharp cheekbones and pointy chin. Less annoying though :)

Saw it last night. Enjoyed :D
I love the Hellboy character. The drunk singing scene had quite a few ppl in the audience laughing. It was funny.
Only thing that I didn;t much care for was the Kraus(sp?) character...well his accent and the ridiculous suit seemed so....naff.
Didn't spoil the film for me though.

I liked the finickety contraptioness of his diving bell style costume!

I want me a blue silk gown and golden waspie like Princess Nuala.

We saw it last night - great, visually beautiful, good action scenes and some laugh out loud moments. Ron Perlman is, as ever, excellent and I thought Luke Goss was great - plus I loved the design of the, not sure what to call them, earth spirits.

The fight with the forest god was also visually great and quite moving and the Death/Destiny character was very spooky and, again, visually striking. I also loved the animation at the beginning when young Hellboy is imagining the story of the Golden Army.

In fact that is what I like about Guillieme (sp!) Del Toro's films - their dreamlike quality
